Christmas is regarded by many as the most wonderful time of the year, and rightly so. It's a time of remembrance, of love, and of celebration. The Christmas season has the distinct and uncanny ability to warm the hearts of all who partake in its blissful cheer, regardless of the weather outside. But what happens when life's ebbs and flows don't always leave us feeling quite so merry? We of Stormshine hold the position that this life is full of ups, downs, twists, and turns, and it is only how we deal with these things that truly matters. When Joseph Mohr and Franz Xaver Gruber penned the beloved song, "Silent Night", it is unknown as to how much either of them realized what an impact that it would actually have on the world. The very core of this project can be summed up from one line from, "Silent Night", in particular: "All is calm, all is bright". This Christmas season may not be perfect for all. In fact, things may seem the complete opposite of "Calm" and "Bright". We recorded these five songs with the hopes that in some small way, a measure of peaceful calm and bright hope just might visit those who need it, and continue to stay with those who have it. May these melodies and rhythms bring you peace and hope as you live and laugh with those you love, and may you have a very merry Christmas.
